The article focuses on the methodological approaches to evaluation of the countries investment attractiveness. The features of investment flows in the context of globalization are determined in the article. The analysis of the countries investment attractiveness is based on the inward FDI attraction and potential indexes. The inward FDI attraction index ranks countries by the FDI they receive in absolute terms and relative to their economic size. It is the average of a country’s rankings in FDI inflows and in FDI inflows as a share of GDP. The inward FDI potential index captures four key economic determinants of the attractiveness of an economy for foreign direct investors. They are: the attractiveness of the market, the availability of low-cost labor and skills, the presence of natural resources, and the presence of FDI-enabling infrastructure. The FDI attraction index and the FDI potential index matrix is developed.
